Hey everyone, I wanted to share a few “in progress” shots from a project we are working on in Jackson, TN. This project is really special to me because it happens to be the home of some very dear friends of mine who moved to Jackson from Birmingham this past summer. My friends bought an incredible 1930′s Southern Colonial house on historic Northwood Avenue near downtown Jackson. The house was in great shape when they bought it, but the decor was not at all what any of us preferred–very “Home Alone”–lots of red and green and brass! As soon as my friends got the keys we unleashed a team of painters on the place who painted it in Benjamin Moore’s ‘Seapearl’ from top to bottom. We are taking this project slow–it’s a big house and my friends are wisely only buying things they love, as they can, so there hasn’t been a lot of progress on furnishings to share yet. We have made some pretty great strides perfecting the “bones” of the house to complement the snappy new paint job. Since I’ve been here this weekend we’ve installed a few light fixtures and made some decisions about cabinet hardware and tile updates.

One thing that has been a priority on the decorative side of things is drapery upstairs–nobody wants to sleep in a room without curtains! In the one room we didn’t paint Seapearl–the upstairs Man Room which we painted in Benjamin Moore ‘Kendall Charcoal” some fun zig zag drapes were just installed. Hannon and I are loving this combination!

I like that leafy light fixture.
